Hamilton Pool Preserve

This beautiful swimming hole is formed by a grotto fed by a 50-foot waterfall. After a dip, enjoy a picnic or hike along the canyon which is home to several rare plant species.

Guided tours are available; call (512) 264-2740 for information. It is also a good idea to call before a swimming trip to this site as bacteria levels occasionally close the pool.

Location: Take TX 71 west through the town of Bee Cave and turn left onto FM 3238 (Hamilton Pool Road). Travel 13 miles to the Preserve entrance, on your right.

Recommended for: swimmers, picnickers
