Austin boasts fine restaurants serving haute cuisine and continental fare, but you'll also find neighborhood cafés and smoky barbecue pits across the city. Dining throughout most of Austin is a casual affair; shorts and t-shirts are the order of the day at most eateries although. Reservations are accepted at a few restaurants but they're the exception rather than the rule.
