Austin Shopping Malls

THE ARBORETUM
10000 Research Blvd

Austin’s largest collection of exclusive shops is fun for window shopping when you can’t afford the lofty price tags. The open-air mall is Austin’s most scenic, dotted with oaks and including a sculpture-filled garden that’s home to Blues on the Green, a series of free blues concerts every summer. (Northwest Austin)

BARTON CREEK SQUARE
2901 Capitol of Texas Hwy.

Austin’s largest shopping mall is home to Foleys, JC Penney, Dillards, Sears, and many specialty shops. (Southwest Austin)

CAPITAL PLAZA SHOPPING CENTER
5400 N. I-35

One of Austin’s original malls, built in 1961, this open-air compendium of shops is small compared to its newer competitors. (North Austin)

GATEWAY
US 183 North at Loop 360

An open-air addition to the Austin scene, this mall includes Whole Foods, Linen’s N Things, Old Navy Clothing Company, and Marie Callendar’s restaurant. (Northwest Austin)

HIGHLAND MALL
6001 Airport Boulevard

Over 180 shops in this two-story mall include Foley’s, Dillards, and JC Penney as well as specialty shops selling books, houseware, jewelry, music, and sporting goods. A large food court on the second floor offers fast food, salads, and baked goods. (North Austin)

LAKELINE MALL
11200 Lakeline Mall Drive (Cedar Park area)

Austin’s newest enclosed mall, this two-story compendium of shops has all the usual mall suspects, from J.C. Penney's to Sears, but the most interesting feature here is the area surrounding its food court on the second floor. Look for a Texas themed sky with an Austin skylight mural. (Northwest Austin)

NORTHCROSS MALL
2525 W. Anderson Lane

Perhaps best known as home of Austin’s first ice skating rink, this enclosed mall is now a favorite with neighborhood mall walkers but has pretty slim pickings for shoppers other than the large Guitar Center found here.
