Spicewood, Texas Travel Guide Also see: Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Austin Most music fans know Austin as the home of Willie Nelson but the popular singer actually makes his home near Spicewood, a small community located west of Austin on TX 71. The redheaded stranger makes his home on an 800-acre ranch that's not only a place to kick off his boots but also an office: the private complex includes a recording studio, golf course, and a small Western "town" named Luck that's used for movie shoots. Although Willie's ranch is closed to the public, you'll find several other diversions in Spicewood. Attractions LCRA Parks near Spicewood The southern shores of Lake Travis are a favorite getaway for anglers, swimmers, and boaters.
