Austin Swimming Pools

With Austin’s active population and soaring summer temperatures, it’s easy to see that swimming would be a popular pastime. Pools fill with children and adults alike during the summer months, and many locals enjoy a swim in the area lakes. Note, however, that swimming is prohibited in Town Lake.

Barton Springs Pool
2200 Barton Springs Rd. (in Zilker Park)
512/476-9044
You’ll find dedicated swimmers braving the constant 68 degree spring water that makes this one of Texas’ most beautiful (and chilliest) year-round swimming holes. Located in Zilker Park, the pool includes a diving board and also a shallow end for children to enjoy, but maintains the look of a natural swimming hole. Restroom and changing facilities available.

Deep Eddy Pool
401 Deep Eddy (Northwest Austin)
512/472-8546
Swim laps or just hang out at this spring-fed pool. Its cool waters are a favorite with dedicated swimmers and young kids.

Stacy Pool
800 E. Live Oak (South Austin)
512/476-4521
This spring-fed pool is another beautiful spot to cool off during Austin’s long, hot summer. During the cooler months, the warm water of this artesian hole draws dedicated swimmers.
