Texas Memorial Museum, Austin

This museum, located on the grounds of the University of Texas campus, offers an eclectic mixture of both Texas and natural history and all things Texan, from dinosaur bones found in the Lone Star State to historic displays on the Native Americans who lived on this land.

You'll also find displays on paleontology, antique firearms, wildlife dioramas, rare gems and minerals, and the original Goddess of Liberty statue removed from the capitol dome during recent restoration (and replaced with a safer replica).

Location: 2400 Trinity St., Austin
