Texas State Cemetery, Austin

Known as the "Arlington Cemetery of Texas," the stately cemetery is the final resting place for many well known texas. Graves include those of Stephen F. Austin, the father of Texas, as well as eight former governors. The cemetery is a short drive east of I-35 but a quiet retreat from the bustling downtown.

The site is open during 8-5 daily.
