Texas Pecan Pie

No barbecue menu would be complete without a homemade pecan pie. The recipe for this sweet temptation comes from the Muldoon Home Demonstration Club.

9-inch unbaked pie shell
1 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup whole pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons melted butter

In a bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, pecans, vanilla, salt, and melted butter. Pour into pie shell and bake in a 350-degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden brown.

SERVES 6 TO 8
