Luther's Bar-B-Q, Houston

Luther's is one of the best known barbecue joints in Houston because it's everywhere. Locations dot the city like beans in a pot, feeding the hungry masses on their lunch breaks. It's not surprising then that when the 1990 Economic Summit came to Houston, Luther's was chosen to feed the 5,000 participants. The busy pit smoked up an astounding three and a half tons of brisket, sausage, chicken, and ribs, served with a ton and a half of coleslaw, potato salad, and beans. It was all washed down with 650 gallons of iced tea and lemonade.

That was certainly a Texas-sized order, but Luther's promises "Taste as Big as Texas." Try it for yourself when you're in Houston and in a hurry or on a budget.
