Texas Home to World's Largest Halloween Theme Park

Halloween is just around the corner--and it's closer than that at Waxahachie's Screams®, the World’s Largest Halloween Theme Park. The park opens on September 29 for five weekends. Your admission includes entrance to four haunted houses (you may enter multiple times), the Ghoulish Graveyard, Maze of the Macabre, Spooky Hollow Children’s area (for children 12 & under closes at 10 PM), karaoke stage and roving characters. Additional excitement is provided by the Mythical Monster Museum and Trail of Terror, Screams® Café, Taboo Tavern, Hot Seat Extreme, bungee power jump, mechanical bull, games of skill and rides. The Screams® karaoke contest is back for its second year with a $500 cash prize for the winner.

Price: Tickets are $19.99 per person (tax included) for ages 6 and over (children 5 and under are free). Parking is free compliments of Allen Samuels Autoplex - Ennis. Tickets are available at the gate. Discount coupons are available at GameStop stores and Long John Silver’s Restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Hours: Screams® is open Friday and Saturday nights, September 29 through October 28 from 7 PM to 1:30 AM, as well as Sunday Night, October 29, from 7 PM to 11 PM.

Spooky Stuff: In The Castle of Darkness, the park’s most popular haunted house, guests descend into the dark depths of a medieval castle and venture through twisting corridors encountering monsters and other creatures of the dark. At Terror Visions in 3D visitors don 3D glasses before entering this carnival gone wrong. The inmates have taken over The Arcane Asylum, striking fear into unsuspecting guests. The Black Hole features a journey through time and space that includes Ancient Egypt, Jack the Ripper’s London, cannibals and even a T-Rex. In the end, there is only one escape and it requires the courage to step through the Black Hole.

Location: Screams® is located in Waxahachie, just 30 minutes south of Dallas/Fort Worth off of I-35E at exit 399A.
