The San Antonio City Council has given its OK to the funding for a plan to extend the popular River Walk. It’s a big plan–one that will eventually create a 13-mile park from Loop 410 South to Hildebrand Avenue, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

The first phase will be the addition of what’s called the Museum Reach which will extend the River Walk from Lexington Avenue up through Brackenridge Park. Look for work to begin in December on the first stretch of that project from Lexington to Josephine Street.
