Elgin, located east of Austin on US 290, maintains a classic small town Texas look, one so authentic it has been used as the backdrop for many movies. If you’ve seen Varsity Blues, The Great Waldo Pepper, or several other Hollywood films, you just might have caught a glimpse of Elgin.
