POTD: Aztec Theatre, San Antonio

This Aztec head greets travelers strolling the River Walk in San Antonio, an invitation to visit the restored Aztec on the River. Since 1926, the elaborately decorated theater has entertained moviegoers.

The Aztec reopened following an extensive renovation but today it’s closed again for construction with reopening anticipated for Spring 2008. You’ll still find the restaurant and retail shops at river level opened during the project.
