San Antonio BBQ Cookoff Planned

With the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo just around the corner starting January 31, it is time for the annual BBQ Cookoff. Now in its 12th year, the barbecue cookoff will feature over 200 teams. Judging takes place from 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM on Saturday.

The event also includes an evening concert; Zack Walther & the Cronkites will be the opening band with Jason Boland & the Stragglers headlining. (Visitors during the day will also enjoy live music. The event will also include a carnival, vendors, and, of course, plenty of barbecue!

Where: Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Selma (just north of San Antonio on I-35)

When: Saturday, January 26, 2008. Gates will be open to the public from 10:00 am until midnight.

Admission: $12 for adults, 12 and under are admitted free. Pre-sale tickets are available for $8 at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo box office, and KJ-97 discount coupons are available at the KJ-97 studios and at KJ-97 live remote broadcasts and events. General parking is free.
