POTD: Hare, Texas

You may not be familiar with the community of Hare, located about 45 miles northeast of Austin (and east of Taylor). The community, which many say was named for the many cottontails here, only has a population of about a dozen people today but is home to the colorful Pancho and Lefty’s Bar, popular for its karaoke and its eight-pound burger challenge (four pounds of which is hamburger meat, the rest is cheese, lettuce, pickles and a jumbo bun.)
