Visitors to Sea Center Texas have long been reeled in by the sight of two denizens of the deep– a Queensland grouper and a green moray eel. The gilled twosome, who get along swimmingly with the array of redfish, Atlantic spadefish and gray snapper who also call the 50,000 gallon Gulf aquarium home, have been nameless since arriving at the exhibit, but soon they will have monikers to match their unique oceanic personalities, thanks to the fish-loving public.
What do you think are the perfect names for a 50 lb. grouper and a six ft. long green moray eel? Come visit the two finned friends at 300 Medical Drive for inspiration, or send your suggestions to the center’s web site by March 25, 2009. The top five picks for each fish will be added to a ballot for voting, with the final choices announced at an event in May,
While visiting the center, be sure to explore the wetland exhibit and take a hatchery tour, just two of the activities at the sea-themed site.
