The Lone Star Stampede in Conroe

Wrangle the kids in the car on Memorial Day weekend and head to the city of Conroe for a three-day tribute to a tied and true Texas tradition, the rodeo. The seats at the Lone Star Expo Center will be a sea of Stetsons as spectators get set to watch more than 2,500 cowboys compete in a round up of rodeo events from team roping to barrel racing.

Competitions

• Featuring the perfect ingredients for a good time, over 100 teams will vie to be Kings of the 'cue in the BBQ Cook-Off.

Attractions

• From tilt-a-whirls to merry-go-rounds, both the young and the young at heart will enjoy the carnival.

• Move your feet to the beat of the three bands that take to the Houston Freightline Stage each night.

• Peruse for purchased among more than 70 vendors stalls.

When: May 22 - 24, 2009

This is really no event to worry about. I (along with many other vendors) paid an astronimical amount to set up at this event. Not only did the "rodeo" (which their website bragged about every where) consist of no rodeo at all performing, the bands that were set to perform were very bad excuses for entertainment. My booth was maybe 10 yards from the stage so I can truly say they were horrible. All vendors began a petition to maybe get our fees back. There were maybe 200 people all together who came through the fair grounds. Vendors came from all over Texas to do what they do best, serve the public. The problem is there was no public to serve. If you are considering visiting here next year please don't waste your money.
