Get a head start on all the holly jolly holiday fun by heading to the Texas Hill Country in mid-November for a seasonal shopping spree and a visit from Saint Nick.

Vendor booths brimming with gourmet chocolates, handcrafted jewelry, original artwork and holiday decorations that will make your home a winter wonderland will help to make the season bright as sightseers stroll through A Hill Country Christmas at Galloway Hammond Recreation Center. Visitors will be rockin’ around the Christmas tree as live Yuletide tunes put folks in a festive frame of mind, while a catered lunch and refreshments will offer shoppers a taste of holiday joy to come.

Breakfast with Santa

For all the kids who have been good for goodness sake, Kris Kringle will arrive on a City of Burnet fire truck as red as Rudolph’s nose to jump start the Christmas season on December 3, 2011 with the annual Breakfast with Santa, where Central Texas tots can tap into their inner Julia Child by decorating their own donut before taking part in holiday games, face painting, photos with Santa and arts and crafts projects so they can create a heartfelt present to present to their family.

A holiday happening with heart, a portion of the proceeds from Breakfast with Santa will benefit Burnet County’s Santa’s Helpers program– a holiday toy drive and gift-giving program for families in the area who are facing financial hardship.
