The Balloon Capital of Texas invites visitors to let their spirits be lifted as they watch a bevy of hot air balloons hover in the heavens during the city’s annual ode to all things aerodynamic.
- While the US Nationals and Great Texas Balloon Race Competition flight over Longview starts at sunrise, you don’t have to be an early bird to enjoy the sight of hot air balloons. Along withe the race, in the evening balloon enthusiasts can see the Special Shapes Spectacular, followed at nightfall by a Balloon Glow.
- Country music fans will be floating on cloud nine when headliners JB and the Moonshine Band take the stage on Friday night and chart-topper Ronnie Milsap coons tunes on Saturday.
- Looking for a little down to earth entertainment to keep the kiddies occupied when their eyes aren’t on the skies? Children will enjoy the bounce house, giant slide, bungee run, climbing wall and other activities at Kid’s Land, which costs $5 per child each day.
Admission: $12 Advance tickets are available at Ark-La-Tex area Brookshires and Super 1 Foods and at outhousetickets.com. Ticket prices at the gate will be $15 for adults. Children age 12 and under are admitted free. Free admission on Sunday.
