Margarita and Salsa Festival, Waco, TX, August 24, 2013

Waco’s motto is “the best of Central Texas,” and on August 24th foodies can sample some of the best margaritas, salsa and queso created in the state at the 18th annual ode to hot sauce and cool beverages.

Pre-Festival Festivities

  • Raise you glass to three days of pre-festival fun as various Waco venues hold Margarita Mondays, where those with an unquenchable thirst to attend the event can enter to win free general admission, Salsaritaville or VIP tickets, or the Ultimate Fan Experience, complete with a limousine ride, two hotel rooms and a meet and greet with one of the event’s entertainers.) Margarita Mondays will take place at the Salty Dog Bar and Grill on July 29th, El Chico on August 5th and Sam’s on the Square on August 12th.


  • Along with sampling the creations of competitors, enjoy sustenance for the soul as Whiskey Myers, Casey Donahew and Kevin Fowler perform toe-tapping tunes.

A happening with heart, proceeds from the event will benefit the Arthritis Foundation and the Heart O’ Texas Fair and Rodeo Scholarship Fund.

Admission: Advance general admission tickets $25; day of show $30;  Salsaritaville tickets, which includes full cash bar, bar snacks and private Port-O-Johns, $75. VIP tickets, which include parking, admission, dinner, drinks and more, $150.

When: August 24, 2013 Gates open at 6 p.m. Concert begins at 7 p.m.

Where: Extraco Exhibits and Creative Arts Buildings in the Extraco Events Center at 4601 Bosque Boulevard in Waco
