Boerne, Texas Restaurants

Po Po Family Restaurant. 6 miles north of Boerne then half mile off I-10 at Exit 533. This restaurant (named for the Mexican volcano) was once a stagecoach stop. Today it's known for its excellent meals (we loved the chicken fried steak as well as the catfish) as well as its plate collection. Over 1,300 plates from around the world fill the walls. Open daily for lunch and dinner.

Limestone Grille. Located inside Ye Kendall Inn at 128 West Blanco Street, Main Plaza. This two-story structure dates back to stagecoach days; through the years, its guest list included everyone from Confederate President Jefferson Davis to US President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday.

Peach Tree Kountry Kitchen. Located at 448 South Main St. This casual restaurant specializes in homestyle fare, from meatloaf to chicken fried steak. Open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday.
