Ingredients:

4 pounds chili meat
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon oregano, ground
1 teaspoon comino seed
6 teaspoons chili powder (or to taste)
1-1/2 cans canned whole tomatoes
2 to 6 generous dashes liquid hot sauce
Salt to taste
2 cups hot water

Cooking Instructions:

Place meat, onion, garlic in heavy skillet or Dutch oven. Cook until meat has browned. Add oregano, comino seed, chili powder, tomatoes, hot pepper sauce, salt and hot water. Bring to boil.

Lower heat and simmer for one hour.

Skim off fat during cooking.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve topped with cheese if desired. Good with cornbread.

Additional Comments:

Chili meat can be coarsely ground round steak or chuck.
