Sanford House, Arlington, Texas

Tucked on a quiet residential street just a short walk from Arlington's entertainment district, Sanford House offers adults a chance to enjoy a quiet getaway. Sanford House resembles a 19th century French country structure but is actually a recent construction accurate in historic details down to a detached "carriage house."

Although it is located with a mile of Arlington's baseball stadium and a short drive from Arlington's theme parks, most visitors at Sanford House come for a quiet retreat. Tall shade trees drape over the expansive lawn where guests can relax in a gazebo, take a dip in the pool, or read a book on one of the many porches.

The tranquil atmosphere continues in guest rooms named for major composers. The antiques-filled Beethoven Room invites relaxation before its fireplace; the Brahms Room, with an intimate reading nook overlooking the front yard, tempts visitors to curl up and spend an afternoon. The quietest rooms are found in the carriage house, where the Bach and the Strauss rooms offer balconies overlooking the lawn and gardens.

Location: 506 N. Center St., Arlington
