Fort Worth Botanic Garden

Texas's oldest botanic garden began as a public relief program during the Great Depression. Today the gardens have grown to include over 2,500 native and exotic species across 190 acres.

The rose garden now displays over 3,400 roses; peak blooming times are late April and October.

The 7.5-acre Japanese Garden is highlighted with waterfalls and colorful koi. A portion of the world's largest collection of begonia species is found in the Exhibition Greenhouse while exotics from around the globe fill the 10,000-square-foot Conservatory.

Location: 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. off University Dr. in the Cultural District.
