Just 15 minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, one of the world's busiest airports, the community of Irving is within a three-hour flight of any major metropolitan area in the continental United States, which has made it attractive as a corporate headquarters for many companies. The city is a top business center in the Metroplex and also a vacation destination.

Irving is also well known to US travelers as the home of the Dallas Cowboys football team. Based at Texas Stadium. An additional draw is that the city is also home to top corporations such as Exxon, GTE, and Sprint.
