Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, better known to the world as Selena, was murdered in Corpus Christi on March 31, 1995 at the age of 23. The Tejano, Latin pop, and pop star is remembered at several sites in the city including the Selena Museum and a memorial at the entrance to the People's Street T-Head.

Many travelers stop to pay their respects at Selena's grave; she is buried in the Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi at at 4357 Ocean Drive:
