A Hill Country Christmas and Dickens on Main
Boerne, Texas

When:

  • Dickens on Main: weekend after Thanksgiving
  • A Hill Country Christmas: Thanksgiving weekend through mid-December

Where: downtown Boerne

Don't worry about your passport -- you can take an easy trip to jolly old England with a holiday visit to Boerne . This community comes alive with Dickens on Main, a time when visitors can step back in time to the days of Charles Dickens. Scheduled the weekend after Thanksgiving, during the event costumed performers don period costumes for a look at “Christmas Past” and a remembrance of the first settlers to Boerne who came to the area in 1849. Boerne’s Back Door Theatre troupe performs scenes from “A Christmas Carol” to make the scene complete. Join in the fun yourself and dress in period clothes as well!

The fun continues the next weekend with the Weihnachts Fest Parade, a colorful night parade that illuminates the Historic District. Santa and Mrs. Claus officially kick off the start of the season at the end of the parade at the Main Plaza Gazebo.

During the night parade, many shops remain open extended hours. If you’re still in search of that special something, though, you’ll find plenty of other opportunities to shop in Boerne as well.

The following weekend, Market Days will fill the Main Plaza with over 60 booths featuring crafts as well as music.

Finally, A Hill Country Christmas wraps up in mid-December with A Cowboy's Christmas on the Main Plaza with photos with Santa, live music, crafts, and cowboy fun.
