June is a peak month for festivals, one last chance
to enjoy the summer holidays before the real heat of the season
sets in.

June 6-8, 2008: Shrimporee,
Aransas Pass. Celebrate the shrimp for which the Coastal Bend is known with this event which includes a shrimp-eating contest, a parade, live music, carnival and lots of shrimp.
June 6-8, 2008: Texas Scottish Festival &
Highland Games, Arlington. From Scottish folk music to Scottish dogs to Highland dances, this event celebrates all things Scottish.
June 7, 2008: Dublin

June 12-15, 2008: Republic of Texas (ROT) Rally, Austin
June 13-15, 2008: Texas Folklife Festival, San
Antonio. The Institute of Texan Cultures celebrates the 40-plus cultures that settled the Lone Star State.
June 14, 2008: Texas
Blueberry Festival, Nacogdoches
June 14, 2008: Tomato Fest, Jacksonville. The tomato takes center stage at this festival featuring tomato peeling contests, a farmers' market, street dance, and more.
June 19-21, 26-28, 2008: Fort
Griffin Fandangle, Albany. Now in its 70th year, this outdoor musical features an Old West atmosphere.
June 20-21, 2008: Peach JAMboree & Rodeo, Stonewall. Tucked between Johnson City and Fredericksburg, tiny Stonewall celebrates the annual peach crop.
June 26-29, 2008: Watermelon
