Days, Corpus Christi. Now in its 70th year, this event includes parades, carnivals, a rodeo, barbecue cookoff, live music, a 5K run, and spectacular fireworks on the bay.

May 23-25, 2008: National Polka Festival, Ennis. Always held on Memorial Day weekend, this event celebrats the Czech heritage that is strong in Texas.
May 23-26, 2008: Texas
State Arts and Crafts Fair, Kerrville. This juried arts and crafts show features the work of over 200 artisans.
May 30, 2008: 77th Old Texas Fiddlers Reunion and Contest, Athens. Held on the courthouse lawn, this longtime event features fiddle music and a street dance.
