It still feels like summer but the state starts its
fall festivities this month.
2008 Festival Dates:

Sept. 4-7, 2008: National Cowboy Symposium and Celebration & National Championship Chuckwagon Cook-off, Lubbock
Sept. 4-13, 2008: West Texas Fair & Rodeo, Abilene. Along with a rodeo and stock show, this event features a large downtown parade.
Sept. 5-7, 2008: 46th Annual National Championship Powwow, Grand Prairie. Held at Traders Village, this event showcases Native American culture with food, dances, crafts, and more.
Sept. 11-14, 2008: Grapefest, Grapevine
Sept. 11-14, 2008: Hummer/Bird Festival, Rockport
Sept. 12-14, Texas Gatorfest, Anahuac. This family festival includes an alligator roundup, boat tours to alligator habitat, and more.
Sept. 12-20, 2008: Tri-State Fair, Amarillo.
Sept. 13, 2008: Kolache Festival, Caldwell. Celebrate the Czech heritage of Caldwell, the Kolache Capital of Texas, with this annual event.
Sept. 26, 2008: Up
