T-Bone Walker Blues Festival
Linden, Texas

When: mid-June

Where: Music City Texas Theater and Legion Field in Linden, Texas.

From the syncopated sounds of Scott Joplin to the mellow rock melodies penned by Don Henley, the tiny Northeast Texas town of Linden has nurtured the musical musings of generations of recording artists, and each June the residents of Cass County welcome blues buffs to a two-day tribute to one of Linden's favorite sons, T-Bone Walker.

Born Aaron Thibeaux Walker, the blues became the heartbeat of the young musician, its rhythm leading him toward friendships with Leadbelly and Blind Lemon Jefferson, and ultimately toward fulfilling his own destiny as the Daddy of The Blues.

Debuting in 2006, the musicians who carry the torch passed on by T-Bone Walker take the mic inside the Music City Texas Theater and at the adjoining Legion Field, where aficionados of this true American art form can groove to the aural artistry of 15 acts.
