Jarrell, Texas Travel Guide

Jarrell, located 12 miles north of Georgetown on I-35, was established in 1910 but didn’t incorporate until 2001. The community remains much as it has for years, an agricultural center where the biggest action is town are the Friday night games played the state title-winning Jarrell high school football team.

Sadly, many travelers know Jarrell for a much more solemn reason. On May 27, 1997, the town was struck by a deadly category F5 tornado, one that cost the town many lives and much property destruction west of I-35.

Restaurants

Pat’s Pantry at Doc’s One Stop. East side of I-35 at Exit 275, (512) 746-2097. Truck drivers buzzing along I-35 find plenty of reasons to pull over at Doc’s One Stop, from oil changes to laundry facilities to wi-fi. Travelers, however, head to this roadside stop for hearty breakfasts, bountiful burgers or just a cup of coffee. This restaurant is open 24 hours.
