A popular day trip for Dallas-Fort Worth urbanites, this beautiful town in the countryside 80 miles southwest of Dallas was once aptly known as "Glen of Roses." Along with its relaxing atmosphere, the town is a favorite as a gateway to Dinosaur Valley State Park, one of the state's best sites for viewing evidence of dinosaur habitation.

Attractions:

Dinosaur Valley State Park. Located five miles west of Glen Rose, this park showcases several dinosaur tracks in the riverbed of the Paluxy River.

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Three miles southwest of Glen Rose, this drive-through wildlife ranch is filled with exotic species. It's especially noted for its conservation efforts including that of the cheetah. Located off US 67 on Route 1.
