Runge, Texas

This community was founded by settlers from Panna Maria, who located it on the Texas and New Orleans Railroad line. Today it's a quiet farming community.

Attractions:

Runge Museum. A few years ago this museum burned, but the collection, like the town of Runge itself, has persevered. Community residents pitched in their time and put a new roof on a historic structure that had served as a general store. Today this small museum contains exhibits on life in Runge during the 1880s. Set up like an old general store, it's filled with historic photos and items from Runge's past, including old-fashioned irons and household goods. Located at 106 N. Helena.
