Blue Bonnet Cafe, Marble Falls

Looking for a real example of a Texas diner? Here it is. Since 1929 (since 1946 in this location), the Blue Bonnet Cafe has served locals and visitors plenty of country cooking, including chicken-fried steak, fried chicken, and burgers. The resturant also serves breakfast throughout the day as well as mouth-watering pieces (don't miss the coconut meringue...or the pecan...or the peanut butter...)

One of the best specials here is the "pie happy hour" from 3-5 on weekdays when you can enjoy a slice of pie and a drink for just $3.

Whenever you go to the Blue Bonnet, plan on the restaurant to be packed. The diner has enlarged several times but you'll always found a crowd here. We've always found fast, friendly service here, though.

Location: on US 281 near the bridge.
