Canyon of the Eagles Lodge and Nature Park

This 900-acre ecopark attracts visitors with a lodge, RV park, and campground. Along with the 64-room lodge, the park includes nature trails, bird and butterfly trails, a fishing pier, cruises, and the Eagle Eye Observatory.

The Lodge: The accommodations here are a great way to enjoy the Hill Country; each of the rooms has a porch with rocking chairs, perfect for sitting and enjoying the natural sounds that fill the park. Weekends are somewhat busy during peak birding season as buses bring travelers to board the Vanishing Texas River Cruise but weekdays are generally quiet. The lodge also includes a pretty pool and restaurant.

Location: Three miles west of Burnet on TX 29, turn north on RM 2341 and continue for 15 miles to the park entrance.
