Vanishing Texas River Cruise at Canyon of the Eagles

This excellent bird-watching cruise is popular with travelers who come to see American bald eagles from November through March. The rest of the year, you might see javelinas, wild goats, and white-tailed deer. Long one of our favorites, this cruise was one of the first attractions we wrote about when we started travel writing and it remains one of our top choices today.

The cruises take place on a two-deck boat called the Texas Eagle; up to 150 passengers each have good viewing both in the downstairs climate-controlled area and the upstairs shaded deck.

You'll also find cruises to the Fall Creek Vineyards and dinner cruises from May through October. From March through May, the cruises visit the waterfalls (right).
