Lago Vista Travel Guide

Nearby: Marble Falls

Lago Vista lies on the north shore of Lake Travis along RM 1431. With a name that translates as "Lake View," it's no surprise that many homes in this small community have views of Lake Travis.

Lago Vista is called the gateway to the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, a preserve that protects two endangered species. Along with hikes and birding at the refuge, nature buffs also find many opportunities at Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) parks in the region.

Attractions:

Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge Two endangered species are protected at this 22-square-mile preserve.

Flat Creek Estate Vineyard and Winery This award-winning winery is a short drive from Lago Vista and located in a serene valley.

Lago Vista Airpower Museum and Library

Lake Travis LCRA Parks From birders to anglers to hikers, these parks attract all types of travelers.

Special Events

Late April/Early May Texas Songbird Festival. Held at the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, this event includes guided walks focusing on the black-capped vireo and golden-cheeked warbler as well as other wildlife in the region.
