La Posada, Laredo, Texas

This hotel, located right on the river, has long been our favorite in Laredo. The 224-room hotel is the closest accommodation to the International Bridge that leads right into Nuevo Laredo's shopping district.

The hotel has a genuine Mexican feel with two Spanish-style courtyards featuring tall palms, blooming bougainvillea, and refreshing pools (where we've taken a dip even during the winter months).

A relaxed lobby restaurant serves Mexican dishes which the Tack Room specializes in steak and continental fare. Adjacent to the hotel, a 19th-Century convent now serves as the convention and meeting center for the beautiful hotel.
