Laredo for Groups

This Texas city on the Rio Grande holds the key to a good economy and a good time. Historic homes and churches provide a backdrop to bustling commerce where shoppers are tempted to shop 'til they drop.

Like Brownsville, Laredo is also a favorite with groups looking to combine their stay with a visit into Mexico as the international border lies within easy walking distance. Since NAFTA's passage in 1994, the city has enjoyed increased traffic in and out of Mexico.

Laredo is the home of the Laredo Entertainment Center, a 10,000-seat multi use facility. Talk is also underway of expanding the existing Laredo Civic Center, which encompasses 20,000 square feet and offers 4,000 square feet of meeting rooms.

The city has nine hotels with meeting space; some of the largest are the Holiday Inn Laredo-Civic Center with 5000 square feet for group use and the historic La Posada Hotel/Suites with 14 meeting and banquet rooms with a total combined space of 12,000 square feet.
