Medina, Texas Travel Guide

This small town is a giant in the world of apples, known for its dwarf apple trees that produce full-sized fruit. You'll find apple varieties ranging from Crispin to Jonagold in these orchards.

Attractions:

Love Creek Orchards. From April through October, these orchards are open to the public by guided tour only; call to set up a tour time. Visit www.lovecreekorchards.com.

The Cider Mill and Country Store. Located downtown on Main Street, this shop sells Love Creek apples from June through November as well as apple products year around. Look for apple butter, sauces, vinegars, jellies, syrups, pies, and even apple ice cream. If you're ready to start your own orchard but don't have the room, you can buy the "patio apple orchard," a dwarf tree grown in a trellis in a wooden planter.
