Indianola, Texas Travel Guide

Region: Gulf Coast

Once a bustling port city settled by German immigrants, Indianola was ravaged by massive hurricanes in 1875 and 1886. Today it's a ghost town with little evidence of its past prosperity.

Attractions

Indianola County Historic Park. This 300-acre park is located where the town once stood. Today it offers picnicking, fishing, boat ramp, and camping with hookups. The park is located 13 miles southeast of Port Lavaca via Texas 238 and 316.
