Mt. Cristo Rey, El Paso, Texas

Back: This is the highest mountain to be seen in New Mexico, opposite the Smelter, six miles west of El Paso, on US Highway 80. A trail 5,650 feet long, 2 feet wide, leads up the mountain top. On the summit is a huge iron cross and the faithful make frequent pilgrimages up to rocky, rugged sides of Mt. Cristo Rey.
