Boot Scootin' in Luckenbach


Made famous by the Waylon Jennings song, tiny Luckenbach is a quiet destination during the daytime hours but comes to life at night when the dance hall fills.

Lavaca County Courthouse, Hallettsville


Located on the courthouse square in Hallettsville, the Lavaca County Courthouse might look familiar to movie lovers...and with good reason. This statuesque building was a "stand in" for the Fayette County Courthouse in La Grange during the filming of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Nina, Corpus Christi


One of three ships created to commemmorate the 500 year anniversary of Columbus' voyage to America, the NiƱa is located on the People's Street T-Head in Corpus Christi. Although it can't be boarded, you can view much of the historically accurate ship from the walkway--and marvel at the idea of crossing the ocean in such a small vessel.

Up the Chisholm Trail, Georgetown


Georgetown recalls its cowboy heritage with an annual September event called Up the Chisholm Trail Cattle Drive and Chuckwagon Cook-off, this year scheduled for September 26 and 27 in San Gabriel Park.
