9/11 Monument, Texas State Cemetery

The 9/11 Monument at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin includes two steel girders from the World Trade Center towers. It honors fallen Texans both in the September 11 attacks and those who died in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. The memorial, which was designed by O’Connell, Robertson and Associates of Austin, was added to the State Cemetery in 2003.

Austin's Rhapsody Mosaic

Rhapsody, a mosaic by artist John Yancey, stands on Austin's East 11th Street. This colorful creation captures the spirit of the district that was once the heart of the city's jazz scene. You'll find the mosaic at the Dr. Charles E. Urdy Plaza at East 11th and Waller streets, just east of I-35.
