Kreuz Market, Elgin

We enjoyed lunch at Kreuz Market in Elgin on a recent trip to Texas. We had eaten at the old Kreuz Market in downtown Elgin but this was our first time at the new Kreuz Market. We entered the building and were at first a little confused about the ordering process but then quickly figured out we needed to go through the building to the smoker room and order (and pick up) our meat there then stop in the dining room to get side dishes and drinks.

We ordered brisket as well as sausage, both regular and spicy. I really liked the spicy sausage (although I didn't care much for the texture of the regular sausage). The brisket was lean and smoky. The restaurant doesn't offer sauce and we didn't need any.

On thing I didn't realize is that they also don't offer plates and forks! We were able to pick up a spoon and knife but no forks; on the way out, we laughed when we saw this sign:
