Bandera's Pico #13

My favorite Texas find is a gas station in Bandera, Texas. It is Pico #13, 607 Main St., Bandera Texas 78003. They have hamburgers to die for and chimichangas that can't be beat and lots of other goodies. I just wish they had hand cut french fries and then it would be the next thing to heaven! I hope the owners have not or will not sell this gas station/eatery. It has been a while since I was down that way, but I have been tempted to drive the 300 miles for a burger,

Green Pastures, Austin

This fall I attended an outdoor wedding at Green Pastures in Austin. I've been to many Texas weddings but this venue was one of the most elegant I've visited. The wedding was held outdoors under the live oaks, and the reception took place inside the home. The atmosphere was very Southern and the food was incredible. I'd like to return for a special dinner here sometime. --Lana, Dallas
