Salado, Texas Restaurants Right: The Salado Mansion Dining in Salado often means an elegant meal (although you will find a Dairy Queen that's mighty tasty on the west side of I-35): The Salado Mansion. This popular restaurant is housed in a downtown historic building originally built in 1857 for a judge. The antiques-filled restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. who come to your table and recite the day's offerings by heart. Entrees
include chicken-fried steak, baked ham, whole catfish, roast prime rib
of beef, and T-bone steak. Don't miss the hush puppies or the banana fritters.
