Stagecoach Inn, Salado, Texas

Hotels in Salado

George Armstrong Custer, Robert E. Lee and even outlaw Jesse James are just a few of the notable guests that have signed their names on the Stagecoach Inn guest list over the years. Established in the early 1860s as the Shady Villa Inn, this was an important rest stop on the Chisholm Trail.

Today guests stay in a modern addition, and the original building, where Sam Houston once delivered an antisecession speech, is now an elegant restaurant.

Location: east side of I-35 at 1 Main Street
