This restaurant may be a brewery but don't expect mere pub grub here. Lunch specialties include burgers, soups, and salads as well as many deli sandwiches; dinner includes a fresh catch of the day, chicken fried chicken breast, chicken fajita plate, jerk chicken, and often a mixed grill. Vegetarians find plenty of options as well with a tasty black bean soup, veggie burgers, and more. And can you name another pub that boasts its own pastry chef?

Located in the Blue Star Arts Complex in the historic King William District, this brewery holds the title as the city's first full-scale brew pub. The brew pub stands across from Pioneer Flour Mill on a quiet stretch of the river. Although it may be San Antonio's first brewpub, this structure has a long history with the hops, first serving as a beer storage warehouse.

Of course, all this is background for the real star of the show here: beer. Known especially for its ales and lagers, options include European Pilsner, King William Ale, Pale Ale, Golden Ale, and others.
